Don’t Undervalue Yourself!!!

    During my time as an artist – If I’ve learned one thing – it’s not to undervalue yourself. You will be offered anything from $50 an hour to $5 an hour – the biggest impulse will be to take the $5 an hour job to gain traction.
    This is a mistake – you’ll gain more traction by being confident and going after the $50 job. In this respect you’ll have to be a little like paddington – unassuming and polite – but a brave wanderer as well.  Remember you are also interviewing your prospective employer. Figuring out if this is the company/person you want to work for is fundamental to your success. Be strong, free and value yourself – I once heard it said ‘We aren’t surgeons – we are artists!’  This is exemplified in how you illustrate/paint and create as well as how you approach the business of illustrating/painting and creating.
